WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis (WSAU) Wausau-area congressman David Obey spent Labor Day in Wisconsin Rapids. He attended that city's 7th annual Labor Day parade, and spoke informally about health care reform after the event.

Obey told workers that they should support President Obama's health care initiative. He said health care costs are rising so quickly that they are crowding out wage increases for workers while companies struggle to pay for health insurance.

Wausau's annual Labor Day parade was also yesterday. Large crowds gathered to see that event along 3rd Avenue and the near west side.
